Creating a Parent Account in Tully

Parents can create their own Tully accounts to manage or view their child’s training data. This can be due to age restrictions for athletes under 13 or simply because a parent wants full access to data entry, performance insights, and account ownership. Tully provides two ways to connect a parent account to an athlete: through the QR code workflow or through an admin adding a parent from the roster.

Method 1: Creating a Parent Account Through the QR Code

Parents can create their account directly from the QR code used for athlete data entry.

Step 1: Scan the QR Code

  • After scanning the QR code, the parent will see the standard data entry form.

Step 2: Select the Athlete

  • The parent selects their child’s name from the athlete dropdown list.

Step 3: Add Parent

  • Click the Add Parent button.
  • A prompt will appear stating:
    • Switch athlete? Continuing will log out the current user.

Step 4: Begin Parent Account Setup

  • The parent is taken to the account setup screen with a notification:
    • To connect athlete’s profile, a parent account must be registered. Sign up below or log in with an existing account.

Step 5: Enter Required Information

  • Parents must provide the following required fields:
    • First name

    • Last name

    • Birthdate

    • Email address

  • There is also an optional field to set a password.

Step 6: Create Account

  • Click the blue Create Account button.
  • The parent account is now connected to the selected athlete.

Logging in If a Parent Already Has an Account

  • Above the sign up fields is a link: Already have an account?
  • If clicked, the parent will be taken to a login screen with a notification:
    • Login to connect athlete’s profile to your parent account.
  • They will enter their email and password to connect.
  • Note: Parents can repeat this process for multiple children.

Method 2: Admin Adding a Parent From the Roster

Tully organization admins can also add parents manually.

Step 1: Navigate to the Roster

  • Go to the Roster page and locate the athlete’s name.

Step 2: Open Parent Management

  • Click the ellipses menu next to the athlete and select Manage Parents.

Step 3: Add Parent

  • Click the blue Add Parent button.
  • Enter the parent’s email address and click Add.
  • The parent is now connected to the athlete and will receive an invitation to join if they do not already have an account.

How to Tell If a Parent Account Is Connected to an Athlete Profile

The fastest way to confirm whether a parent account has been successfully connected to an athlete is by checking the roster.

Step 1: Go to the Roster

  • Navigate to the Roster page in Tully and find the athlete’s profile.

Step 2: Look for the Green Checkmark

  • If a parent account is connected, a green checkmark inside a green circle will appear next to the athlete’s name.

Step 3: Hover for Confirmation

  • Hover your cursor over the green checkmark. A message will appear stating:
    • [Athlete Name] has been associated with a parent account.
    • If no checkmark appears, no parent account is connected.

Additional Locations You May See the Green Checkmark

This indicator is not limited to the roster. Anytime the athlete’s name appears throughout Tully, the green circle and checkmark will appear if a parent account is associated. This includes places like navigation lists, data entry screens, reports, and more.

Understanding How Parent Accounts Connect to Athlete Profiles

  • A parent account in Tully functions as the direct link between a parent and an athlete profile. When a parent account is created or added, it becomes associated to the specific athlete profile within the organization.
  • This association allows the parent to view the athlete’s data, enter training information, and manage the athlete account when needed. In short, the parent account serves as the connection point that ties the parent to their child’s profile or athlete account in Tully.
